Role Overview

The Senior SAP ABAP Technical Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality ABAP solutions across SAP ECC and S/4HANA systems. This role is strictly technical and focuses on development standards, performance, and system integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop custom ABAP objects including:
  • Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms
• Develop and optimize:
  • Classical, Interactive, and OO ABAP programs
  • ALV (Classical / Grid / OO)
• Develop technical interfaces using:
  • RFC, BAPI, IDOC, File-based interfaces
• Implement:
  • User Exits, Customer Exits, BADIs, Enhancement Framework
• Perform S/4HANA technical remediation:
  • Custom code adaptation
  • SPau / SPau_EN resolution
  • ATC and Simplification Item handling
• Conduct performance tuning and debugging
• Enforce ABAP coding standards and best practices
• Perform peer code reviews and technical mentoring
• Support production issues and root cause analysis

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience
• Strong experience in SAP ECC and S/4HANA
• Deep expertise in Classic ABAP and OO ABAP
• Strong knowledge of ABAP Dictionary, Open SQL, internal tables
• Experience with SAP Forms (SmartForms / Adobe Forms)
• Strong debugging and performance optimization skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience with ABAP on HANA
• Exposure to SAP BTP ABAP Environment (Steampunk)
• Experience in SAP technical migration projects
