OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
 

He/She will be responsible to demonstrate a broad understanding of HANA architecture and deliver deployment scenarios of SAP HANA. Provide business-driven end-to-end solutions to meet our customers’ needs in gaining insights from our enterprise data around the Native HANA platform.

He/She will also be responsible to monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of SAP HANA models and systems.

The SAP Analytics Technical Specialist - HANA reports to Senior Project Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES : -

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science Engineering /Technology or related field

Experience

  • 1. SAP HANA Development
  • Advanced SQLScript for data manipulation and logic
  • Creation and optimization of Calculation Views (Graphical and SQL-based)
  • Analytic Privileges for data security – with SQL privileges
  • Performance tuning using Explain Plan, SQL Analyzer, and PlanViz
  • Job scheduling in SAP HANA XS (Extended Services) Classic and XS Advanced models by leveraging XS JavaScript (XSJS) files and XS Job definitions
  • Dimensional modeling (Star/Snowflake schemas)
  • Handling large datasets with partitioning, compression, and columnar storage
  • Use of Input Parameters, Variables, and Hierarchy modeling
  • 2. SAP Integration /Data Provisioning
  • Integration with SAP ECC or S/4HANA (especially MM, PP, and MRP modules)
  • Data provisioning using SLT, SDI, or ETL tools
  • Working with ABAP, CDS Views and ABAP-managed database procedures (AMDP)
  • 3. Material Planning Domain Knowledge
  • Understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) processes
  • Familiarity with BOM, Inventory Management, Procurement, and Production Planning
  • Ability to translate planning KPIs and logic into HANA models

    • 4. Supporting Tools & Technologies

  • SAP BW on HANA 
  • SAP Fiori/UI5 for frontend integration (optional but valuable)
  • SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) or SAP BO for visualization
  • Git or CTS+ for version control and transport management

    • 5.Performance & Optimization

  • Indexing strategies and Delta Merge monitoring
  • Query optimization and memory footprint analysis
  • Use of HANA Cockpit and DBA Cockpit for system monitoring

    • 6. Soft Skills & Methodologies

  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams (functional consultants, planners, developers)
