What You’ll Do

As an SAP on Cloud - Lead Basis Architect, you’ll be at the heart of helping global clients transform their SAP operations with cloud-based solutions. You’ll lead technical architecture, delivery, and governance across large-scale transformation programs while mentoring teams and driving operational excellence.

Here’s a glimpse into your day-to-day:

Design end-to-end SAP technical architectures across S/4HANA, ECC, BW/4HANA on AWS, Azure, or GCP

Lead S/4HANA transformations (brownfield/greenfield/SDT), migrations, upgrades, and cutovers

Define and implement HA/DR patterns with tested RTO/RPO

Establish automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Ansible/CloudFormation)  and CI/CD for SAP infrastructure

Architect solutions within RISE with SAP/Private Edition reference models

Oversee platform operations readiness, security, and compliance (SOC2/ISO)

Lead multiple concurrent programs and mentor Basis and cloud engineers

Govern multiparty delivery with SAP, hyperscalers, and MSPs

Translate business requirements into technical solutions and communicate with CxO-level stakeholders

Requirements

What You Bring

10–15+ years of SAP Basis/HANA experience with proven cloud architecture expertise (AWS/Azure; RISE with SAP/SAP Cloud ERP Private)

Experience leading multiple end-to-end S/4HANA transformation programs, including transitions to S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition

Deep expertise in SAP on Oracle, HANA, SQL, or DB2; SUM/DMO, SPAM/SAINT, CTS+/ChaRM

Hands-on leadership in large-scale migrations and cutovers

Strong networking, identity/SSO, and compliance knowledge

Automation mindset with IaC/Ansible and CI/CD for SAP infrastructure

Demonstrated “player-coach” leadership and mentoring

Excellent communication and executive storytelling skills

Bachelors in CS/IS or related field; cloud and SAP certifications preferred

Bonus:

Experience with SAP Cloud ALM, Focused Run, Solution Manager, SAP Signavio, LeanIX

SAP BTP architecture and extensibility patterns

FinOps and cost governance for SAP on cloud

Industry experience in regulated environments (e.g., pharma, healthcare)
