Role Summary

The SAP BTP Architect is responsible for designing, governing, and delivering solutions on SAP Business Technology Platform to extend, integrate, and innovate SAP and non-SAP applications. The role ensures scalable, secure, and future-ready architectures aligned with SAP Clean Core principles and enterprise IT standards.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

• Define end-to-end SAP BTP architecture across:
• Application Development & Automation
• Integration Suite
• Data & Analytics
• AI & Extensions
• Design side-by-side extensions for S/4HANA (on-premise and cloud).
• Establish reference architectures , design patterns, and best practices.
• Ensure alignment with Clean Core, RISE with SAP , and cloud-native principles.

Integration & Connectivity

• Architect integrations using:
• SAP Integration Suite (CPI, API Management, Event Mesh)
• OData, REST, SOAP, IDocs, RFCs
• Design hybrid and multi-cloud integrations (SAP + non-SAP systems).
• Define API-led and event-driven architectures.

Application Development & Extensions

• Lead development using:
• CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model)
• SAP Fiori, SAP UI5
• SAP Build (Apps, Process Automation)
• Guide custom extension strategy avoiding S/4 core modifications.
• Oversee DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and transport management on BTP.

Data, Analytics & AI

• Architect data flows using:
• SAP Datasphere
• SAP Analytics Cloud
• SAP HANA Cloud
• Enable analytical and operational reporting on BTP.
• Define integration with AI services (SAP AI Core, Joule, ML services).
• Govern data security, lineage, and performance.

Security, Governance & Operations

• Define BTP security architecture :
• IAS / IPS
• Role collections and authorization concepts
• Establish tenant strategy (global accounts, subaccounts, environments).
• Define monitoring, logging, and lifecycle management.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security and audit requirements.

Stakeholder & Delivery Leadership

• Act as a trusted advisor to business and IT stakeholders.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Review solution designs and vendor deliverables.
• Support RFPs, estimates, and architecture governance boards.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in SAP BTP services , including:
• Integration Suite
• HANA Cloud
• SAP Build
• Extension Suite
• Deep knowledge of S/4HANA architecture and extensibility .
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) in SAP context.
• Solid understanding of microservices, APIs, event-driven architecture.
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, Git, and cloud security concepts.

Experience

• 8–15+ years in SAP landscape design and architecture.
• 3–5+ years hands-on experience with SAP BTP.
• Experience in large-scale S/4HANA transformations or RISE programs.
• Strong exposure to enterprise integration and data architectures.

Certifications (Preferred)

• SAP Certified Development Associate – SAP BTP
• SAP Certified Solution Architect – SAP BTP
• SAP Integration Suite certification
• Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP)
