Job Description

The organization is currently executing multiple large-scale global transformation initiatives that require extensive data conversion, migration, and ongoing process data management. This includes reference, conditional, configuration, and transactional data across enterprise systems.

We are seeking experienced SAP S/4HANA Functional Process Data Experts to support a global greenfield S/4HANA implementation spanning all value streams, including RTR, PTD, PLM, STP, and OTC business processes.

This role is critical to ensuring business data is fit for purpose, standardized, governed, and ready to support successful process design, system build, data migration, and user adoption.

The Functional Process Data Expert will serve as a key liaison between business process owners, SAP functional teams, and the data enablement organization, ensuring that data requirements are fully embedded into solution design and execution.

Key Responsibilities

Data Enablement & Solution Design

• Partner with global and regional business stakeholders to define data requirements aligned with standardized value stream processes.
• Translate business process designs into clear master and transactional data definitions for SAP S/4HANA.
• Support global template design by ensuring consistent data models, attributes, and hierarchies across regions.
• Validate data readiness for end-to-end process execution (Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, Return).

Functional Process Data Ownership

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Defining data objects, attributes, and mandatory fields.
• Supporting business rules, validations, and derivation logic.
• Aligning data structures with SAP best practices and industry standards.

Data Migration & Readiness

• Support data cleansing, enrichment, and harmonization activities.
• Define, document, and validate data mapping rules from legacy systems to SAP S/4HANA.
• Participate in mock conversions, data loads, and reconciliation activities.
• Ensure data quality thresholds are met prior to cutover.

Data Governance & Standards

• Support the establishment, documentation, and enforcement of global data standards and policies.
• Collaborate closely with Master Data Management and Data Governance teams.
• Help define data ownership, stewardship roles, and accountability models across value streams.
• Contribute to ongoing data quality monitoring and remediation processes.

Testing, Cutover & Hypercare

• Support functional and integrated testing with a strong focus on data accuracy and completeness.
• Validate business scenarios using migrated and newly created data.
• Support cutover planning and execution from a data perspective.
• Provide post-go-live support and stabilization during hypercare.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• 5+ years of SAP functional experience with a strong focus on data management.
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA; greenfield implementation experience strongly preferred.
• Proven experience supporting large-scale, global ERP transformation programs.
• Strong understanding of value stream business processes and related data objects.
• Demonstrated experience in data migration, cleansing, and validation activities.

Technical & Functional Skills

• Strong knowledge of SAP master data objects, including Material, Vendor/Business Partner, BOM, Routings, Pricing, Customer, and related data domains.
• Solid understanding of SAP S/4HANA data model changes compared to ECC.
• Experience working with SAP MDG or similar data governance tools preferred.
• Familiarity with SAP data migration tools such as Migration Cockpit, LVM, or other ETL solutions.
• Ability to read, interpret, and validate functional specifications and data models.
