SAP EWM Architect (Greenfield Implementation) – Pharma Industry | India
We are looking for an experienced SAP EWM Architect to join an international Greenfield implementation project within the Pharmaceutical industry . This is a key role in a large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation , focused on designing compliant, scalable, and efficient warehouse management solutions.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead the SAP EWM architecture and end-to-end solution design for a Greenfield implementation
- Translate business and pharma logistics requirements into robust SAP EWM solutions
- Design and optimize warehouse processes : Inbound, Outbound, Internal Warehousing, Cross-Docking, Slotting, Yard Management, MFS (if applicable)
- Ensure solutions comply with Pharma regulatory requirements (e.g. GxP, GMP, serialization, batch management, cold chain)
- Act as solution authority for all SAP EWM-related topics
- Coordinate with functional and technical teams (MM, SD, PP, QM, TM, ABAP, Basis, Integration)
- Ensure adherence to SAP best practices , scalability, and performance standards
- Support integration with S/4HANA , automation systems, and third-party warehouse solutions
- Lead design workshops, prepare functional specifications, and support testing phases (Unit, Integration, UAT)
- Provide technical and functional guidance to EWM consultants and project teams
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of SAP experience , with strong specialization in SAP EWM
- Proven experience as SAP EWM Architect or Lead in Greenfield implementations
- Solid experience in the Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences industry
- Hands-on experience with 3PL warehousing models and external logistics providers
- Solid knowledge of intercompany processes (stock transfer, intercompany STOs, billing relevance)
- Strong knowledge of S/4HANA Embedded EWM and/or Decentralized EWM
- In-depth understanding of pharma warehouse processes , including batch management, expiry date handling, and quality inspection
- Experience with system integrations (IDocs, RFCs, APIs)
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work in a global, regulated, and multicultural environment
- Fluent English is mandatory
Nice to Have
- Experience with GxP / GMP validation projects
- Knowledge of serialization and track & trace
- Exposure to SAP TM, SAP QM, or SAP MM integration
- Experience with automation, MFS, RF, Voice Picking, 3 PL
- SAP EWM and/or SAP S/4HANA certifications
