Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced SAP Project Manager to lead end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of SAP implementation, rollout, and enhancement projects. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on expertise managing cross-functional SAP programs (ECC or S/4HANA), deep understanding of core modules and integration points, and a proven ability to partner with business and technical stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.

This role requires strong leadership, communication, organizational skills, and a track record of managing SAP projects using industry-standard methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Governance


- Lead end-to-end SAP project lifecycle: planning, discovery, design, build, testing, cutover, go-live, and hypercare.


- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, resource plans, dependency maps, and risk registers.


- Establish and drive project governance—status reporting, steering committees, issue management, and change control.


- Ensure scope, schedule, budget, and quality targets are met consistently.

Stakeholder & Team Management


- Collaborate with business leaders, IT stakeholders, and functional consultants to align on project objectives.


- Facilitate workshops, requirement-gathering sessions, and design reviews.


- Manage cross-functional teams including SAP functional consultants, ABAP/BTP developers, integrators, testers, and business SMEs.


- Coordinate with external vendors, implementation partners, and offshore/onshore resources.

SAP Expertise & Execution Oversight


- Provide leadership for SAP ECC or S/4HANA programs in modules such as SD, MM, PP, FI/CO, WM/EWM, and others.


- Ensure design decisions follow SAP best practices and clean-core principles.


- Oversee integration activities involving middleware (PI/PO, BTP, MuleSoft, APIs, EDI/IDocs).


- Support data migration planning, data cleansing, conversion strategies, and validation.


- Lead testing strategy including unit, SIT, UAT, regression, and cutover rehearsals.

Risk, Issue & Change Management


- Identify risks and issues early;
develop mitigation and contingency plans.


- Manage scope through structured change control processes.


- Ensure compliance with PMO standards, security policies, and audit requirements.


- Track KPIs, deliverable quality, and program health metrics.

Cutover & Go-Live Leadership


- Lead cutover planning with functional and technical teams.


- Coordinate go-live readiness, business signoffs, and deployment checklists.


- Oversee hypercare support and transition to steady-state support teams.

Required Qualifications


- 8+ years of experience managing SAP projects in ECC and/or S/4HANA environments.


- Proven experience leading medium-to-large SAP implementations, rollouts, or major enhancement projects.


- Strong understanding of SAP modules, integration points, data structures, and processes.


- Experience managing cross-functional teams across time zones.


- Strong grasp of project management methodologies: Agile, Scrum, ASAP, Activate, Waterfall, or hybrid.


- Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills.


- Strong vendor management and contract negotiation experience.

- SAP Activate certified or PMP / Prince2 certification.


- Experience with S/4HANA transformations, cloud migrations, RISE with SAP.


- Familiarity with BTP, integration technologies, and API-led architectures.


- Experience working in manufacturing, distribution, retail, high-tech, or similar industries.


- Experience with organizational change management (OCM) and end-user training programs.
