SAP BDC/Datasphere/SAC Engineer

Job Summary:


As an SAP BDC Engineer within the EY SAP Enterprise Data Management Initiative run by SAP Platforms & Assets, you will be responsible for the development, execution, and maintenance of data management assets and programs based on SAP Business Data Cloud (SAP BDC) methodology. You will play a pivotal role in EY’s SAP BDC data management initiative, integrating SAP core systems with a modern data platform built on technologies from SAP, Databricks, Microsoft, Nvidia, Snowflake and others.


You will work alongside data engineers, functional consultants, and platform architects to enable smooth, accurate, and scalable SAP data migrations.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Design and develop BDC assets and scripts for automated data upload and conversion into SAP systems.

  • Collaborate with SAP functional consultants to gather field mappings, transaction codes, and data rules.

  • Integrate BDC tools with ETL processes and pipelines hosted on cloud platforms (, Azure, Databricks).

  • Ensure exception handling, logging, and reporting mechanisms for BDC execution outcomes.

  • Conduct unit testing, data validation, and post-migration reconciliation.

  • Optimize BDC performance for large data volumes and ensure scalability.

  • Document migration processes and maintain technical artifacts for audit and compliance.

  • Provide support during cutover and hypercare phases of SAP data migration.

    • Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • Strong hands-on experience with BDC, SAC, Datasphere, BW, Databricks, LSMW, and IDoc-based data loading in SAP.

  • Good understanding of SAP modules and business processes (MM, SD, FI, etc.) and their master/transactional data structures.

  • Familiarity with integration patterns involving SAP and cloud-based data platforms.

  • ABAP debugging and troubleshooting skills.

  • Strong documentation and stakeholder collaboration skills.

    • Other Requirements:

  • Exposure to cloud data integration tools (ADF, Glue, or similar).

  • Agile working model experience and distributed team collaboration.

  • Previous experience on SAP migration, greenfield or brownfield implementation is highly desirable.

    • Job Requirements:


    Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent field.

  • Experience:

  • 5+ years of SAP development experience with some experience in BDC/migration workstreams.

  • At least 2 full end to end implementation experience for the clients.
