Senior / Lead SAP S/4HANA Solution Architect

We are seeking an experienced Senior / Lead SAP S/4HANA Solution Architect to design and lead end-to-end, enterprise-wide S/4HANA solutions. This role requires deep architectural, functional, and business process expertise to deliver scalable, integrated, and future-proof SAP landscapes aligned to business strategy.

The successful candidate will drive solution design across core ERP, satellite systems, and integrations, ensuring a clean core, strong governance, and business-led decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end S/4HANA solution architectures aligned with enterprise architecture, functional scope, and business objectives.
• Define and govern S/4HANA deployment and landscape architectures, including SAP ECC (legacy considerations).
• Lead architectural decision-making across ERP, satellites, and integrations.
• Apply deep expertise in S/4HANA simplified data model and architecture to enable real-time processing.
• Redesign solutions to exploit S/4HANA innovations, avoiding ECC-style replications.
• Ensure solutions are optimized for performance, scalability, and in-memory processing.

Integration & Extensibility

• Architect end-to-end business solutions spanning SAP and non-SAP systems using modern integration patterns.
• Define clean core and extensibility strategies, enabling innovation (including mobile) while protecting the S/4HANA core.
• Guide decisions on core vs extension placement and integration patterns.

Functional & Domain Leadership

• Provide deep primary domain expertise across multiple business areas, including Finance (FI/CO, Group Reporting, Universal Parallel Accounting), Logistics (SD, MM), Manufacturing (PP, QM), Supply Chain (EWM, TM).
• Design solutions that work across domains, ensuring seamless end-to-end processes: Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, and understand and manage data flows, postings, and dependencies across modules.

S/4HANA Innovation & Industry Capability

• Identify and leverage S/4HANA functional innovations, including Advanced ATP, MRP Live, Embedded Analytics, New Asset Accounting.
• Replace legacy custom solutions with standard S/4HANA capabilities where appropriate.
• Apply industry-specific knowledge (Utilities, Asset-Intensive Industries, Manufacturing – Discrete vs Process).
• Balance standard SAP industry content with real-world business requirements.
• Understand financial impacts across all business processes, including margin analysis implications from logistics, real-time postings, parallel ledgers and currencies, compliance and audit considerations.
• Ensure architectural decisions support financial integrity and regulatory requirements.

Business Process Design & Transformation

• Design end-to-end business processes using S/4HANA Best Practices.
• Lead process harmonisation and standardisation across regions and business units.
• Reduce custom code.
• Drive business process transformation, not just technical migration: real-time close, embedded analytics replacing BW extracts, automation of postings and reconciliations.
• Make process-driven solution decisions, evaluating trade-offs between flexibility, standardisation, build vs buy, and innovation.

Key Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Senior / Lead S/4HANA Solution Architect.
• Strong mix of architecture, functional, and business process expertise.
• Experience delivering large-scale S/4HANA implementations or transformations.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.
• Ability to bridge business strategy and technical execution.
