Key Process & Technical Knowledge
The consultant should have strong knowledge in:
Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)Solution Documentation and Business Process Monitoring.Change Request Management (ChaRM).Test Suite Management.IT Service Management (ITSM).System & Landscape MonitoringEnd-to-End Root Cause Analysis.Technical Monitoring (System, DB, Host, Interface).EarlyWatch Alerts and reports.Custom dashboards and KPIs.Operations ControlJob Scheduling Management (JSM).Interface and Data Consistency Monitoring.Business Process Analytics.Central Technical Administration.Security & ComplianceAudit Management and system trace capabilities.Integration with SAP GRC for change control.Proactive risk & vulnerability monitoring.Projects & UpgradesSolMan system setup, configuration, and upgrades (7.2 and beyond).Integration with SAP Cloud ALM / Focused Build / Focused Insights.System landscape readiness for RISE with SAP and hybrid models.Key Responsibilities
Lead the setup, configuration, and management of SAP Solution Manager modules.Define and maintain system monitoring strategy across SAP and non-SAP systems.Manage Change Request Management (ChaRM) process and governance.Ensure incident, problem, and service request management via ITSM.Drive test automation and test management using SolMan Test Suite.Monitor and optimize interfaces, batch jobs, and end-to-end processes.Provide early warning and predictive monitoring to reduce system downtime.Collaborate with Basis, Functional, and Security teams for integrated operations.Implement reports, KPIs, and dashboards for program governance.Ensure SolMan compliance with audit and security requirements.Support cutover, go-live readiness, and hypercare monitoring.Required Qualifications & Skills
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.SAP Certified in SAP Solution Manager 7.2 or SAP Cloud ALM.Experience
7+ years of experience in SAP Solution Manager implementation & operations.Strong experience with ChaRM, ITSM, Monitoring, and Test Suite.Experience in SolMan upgrades, Focused Build, and Cloud ALM migration.Hands-on in Root Cause Analysis, System Monitoring, and EarlyWatch Alerts.Experience with RISE with SAP or hybrid cloud deployments preferred.Technical Skills
Deep expertise in Solution Manager 7.2 configuration and operations.Knowledge of HANA DB, Basis administration, and technical integration.Familiarity with automation tools (CBTA, Tricentis integration).Strong understanding of ALM best practices and ITIL processes.At DXC Technology, we believe strong connections and community are key to our success.
