DEFINITION

: Utilizing leadership, advocacy, and collaboration, school counselors promote student success, provide preventive services, and respond to identified student needs by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses academic, career, and personal/social development for all students. Provides advice and guidance to students, school administrators, staff, parents and community members. Performs other duties as assigned.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops, manages, and communicates the comprehensive school counseling program with the school administrator and other stakeholders.

Develops and maintains a written plan for effective delivery of the school counseling program based on the ACSA National Model, COMAR and current individual school data

Maintains current and appropriate resources for education stakeholders.
