Job Description
1.Education:o A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Library and Information Science, Education, or a related field.
2. Experience:
o Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a school library or educational setting is preferred.
o Experience in organizing and managing library resources for children and young adults.
3. Knowledge and Skills:
o Knowledge of library classification systems o Proficiency in using library management software and digital cataloguing tools.
o Basic IT skills, including internet research, MS Office, and digital literacy.
4. Personal Attributes:
o Passion for books, reading, and learning.
o Friendly, patient, and approachable demeanor.
o Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teachers and staff.
o Strong sense of responsibility, discipline, and confidentiality.
o Ability to conduct library orientation and reading programs.

Offer guidance on how to use the library’s catalog, electronic resources, and databases.
Help library users locate materials, answer reference questions, and provide information about library services.
Shelve returned items, maintain the order of the stacks, and ensure materials are properly organized according to the library's classification system.
Conducting regular inventory checks and updating catalog records to ensure the accuracy of the library’s collection.
Cataloging new acquisitions and updating existing catalog records in the library’s database.
Manage and maintain the library’s digital resources, including e-books, databases etc.
Plan and implement library programs, events, and activities for different age groups.
Reporting on library usage, program attendance, and other relevant metrics.
Ensure library policies and procedures are followed by patrons and staff.
Work to ensure the effective operation of the library.
