Job Description: We seek an experienced and dynamic Head of Department (HOD) - Science to lead our primary Science department for classes 1-5. The HOD will ensure high-quality education, foster a culture of academic excellence, and be responsible for curriculum development, teacher mentoring, and the overall performance of the Science department.

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

  • Lead and manage the Science department for classes 1-5, providing direction and support to teachers.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to enhance student learning.
  • Coordinate departmental activities and ensure alignment with CBSE standards.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the Science faculty to discuss progress, challenges, and plans.

Curriculum Development:

  • Oversee the development and revision of the Science curriculum for primary grades (1-5).
  • Ensure the curriculum is engaging, up-to-date, and meets educational standards.
  • Integrate new technologies and methodologies to enhance the learning experience.

Teacher Mentoring and Development:

  • Provide professional development opportunities for Science teachers.
  • Mentor and support teachers in lesson planning, classroom management, and instructional strategies.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

Student Achievement:

  • Monitor and analyze student performance data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement strategies to support students' academic growth and success.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and scientific inquiry.

Parental and Community Engagement:

  • Maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress and departmental activities.
  • Foster relationships with the community to enhance the Science program through partnerships and resources.

Qualifications:

Founder Level:

  • 5-7 years of experience in teaching Science, with a Bachelor's degree in Education (B.Ed.) or a relevant field.
  • Strong leadership skills and a proven track record of success in a teaching role.

Master Level:

  • 8-12 years of experience in teaching Science, with a Bachelor's degree in Education (B.Ed.) or a Master's degree in Education (M.Ed.) or a relevant field.
  • Extensive experience in curriculum development and teacher mentoring.

Developer Level:

  • 13+ years of experience, with a Master's degree in Education (M.Ed.) or a relevant field.
  • Specialized skills in educational leadership, curriculum design, and departmental management.

Screening Process:

  • Written Test: A subject-specific exam assessing proficiency in Science.
  • Proficiency Test: Tests for proficiency in MS Office.
  • Reading Test: Conducted through Microsoft Teams.
  • Teaching Demonstration: Candidates demonstrate teaching skills through a mock class session.
