Scrub Nurse

Position Summary

The Scrub Nurse is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and quality patient care in the operating room by assisting the surgical team during procedures. This includes maintaining a sterile field, anticipating the needs of the surgeon, handling surgical instruments and supplies, and ensuring compliance with infection control and surgical standards.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room with necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies.
• Scrub in and maintain aseptic technique throughout the surgical procedure.
• Pass instruments, sponges, and sutures to surgeons and surgical assistants.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond accordingly during procedures.
• Monitor and maintain sterility of the surgical field.
• Assist with room turnover, including decontamination and setup for subsequent cases.
