Job Description Job Description Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2 years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. A surgical technologist position is available in Vail, Colorado, offering a 13-week contract assignment with a dynamic rotating shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week. This role is essential in supporting surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile environment and providing necessary instruments to the surgical team, working under the direction of a registered nurse. Key Responsibilities: Apply expertise in sterile and aseptic technique aligned with AORN standards, utilizing knowledge of anatomy and surgical procedures to assist in invasive diagnostic and therapeutic operations. Ensure all surgical instruments and materials are properly packaged, processed, and safe for use, maintaining strict attention to sterilization and expiration protocols. Monitor the sterile field and promptly address contamination risks in collaboration with the perioperative team. Participate actively in preoperative briefings, intraoperative processes, and postoperative debriefings to enhance patient safety. Assist with patient transport, room preparation, and turnover to ensure efficient surgical operations. Maintain proficiency with surgical instruments and evolving technologies; uphold professional communication and behavior standards. Uphold HIPAA compliance and contribute positively to a Just Culture work environment. Qualifications and Experience: Completion of a Certified Surgical Technologist program and/or current Surgical Technologist licensure in Colorado. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association. Ability to complete online learning modules and communicate effectively in English. Physical ability to perform tasks including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating safely within the surgical suite.
