Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Port and build-upon supplier relationships across the seafood space in South and Central America, driving profitable relationships and consistent supply chains to enable fluid and profit-driven seafood trading environment
  • Actively drive business development activity, positively communicating with customers and suppliers in the region in all major seafood classes
  • Maintain relationships with seafood processors/producers and suppliers in the region across fish/shellfish/fillets/frozen seafood products as well as market-specific traders where beneficial
  • Work with internal operations and finance team to ensure efficient and robust supply chain
  • Keep up to date with market movements and analysis to capitalise on trading/sales opportunities covering the full range of seafood products under the company’s jurisdiction
  • Work with international teams on supply issues, logistics and product coverage.
  • Travel to meet with prospective clients and develop business opportunities in seafood sales/trading and sourcing
  • Actively drive PnL through stringent negotiations with seafood suppliers and customers, working with the existing team to complement existing relationships and onboard new clients and suppliers to the portfolio
  • Experience:

  • 5+ years experience in the seafood sourcing, sales or trading markets, ideally as a seafood trader
  • Excellent knowledge of seafood as an asset class/product specific requirements
  • Fluency in English and Spanish or Portuguese
  • Highly motivated and outgoing personality with the ability to develop and retain relationships
  • Experienced in working with operations, logistics and finance teams to ensure fluidity across the sales cycle
  • Proven track record of increasing supplier and customer portfolio
