JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Second Engineer with License over 3000KW (III/2)

Vessel Type: Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS)

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintenance and Operation: Supervise and participate in the maintenance and repair of all mechanical, electrical, and propulsion systems onboard, ensuring they are operational and meet safety and environmental standards.

• Safety and Compliance: Implement and monitor compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Conduct regular inspections and drills, ensuring all engineering practices adhere to international maritime laws and conventions.

• Emergency Response: Act as a key member of the emergency response team, ready to manage or support engineering-related incidents onboard.

• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of engineering department activities, including but not limited to maintenance and repair logs, inventory of spare parts and supplies, and fuel and oil consumption.

• Team Management: Assist in leading and managing the engineering team, promoting a culture of safety and excellence. Provide training and guidance to junior engineers and engine room crew.

• Collaboration: Work closely with the Chief Engineer and other department heads to ensure the vessel's operational efficiency. Participate in planning and executing onboard operations, including loading, discharging, and maneuvering.
• Technical Support: Provide technical expertise and support to the vessel's crew, ensuring all onboard operations are conducted safely and efficiently.

REQUIREMENTS

• Certification: Valid Second Engineer License (III/2) with unlimited power.

• Italian endorsement.

• Experience: Significant experience as a Second Engineer on similar vessels, preferably with experience in towing operations.

• Knowledge: Familiarity with the operational and safety requirements of tug boat towing operations in the Arabian Sea and Gulf.

• Physical Fitness: Capability to perform duties under physically demanding maritime conditions.
