**Position Summary:**
We are seeking a skilled and dependable **Lead Mechanic** to oversee second shift operations in our fleet maintenance department. This role is critical to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely maintenance of our trucks and equipment. This candidate needs to have strong leadership abilities, hands-on mechanical expertise, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence under the Waste Connection standard. Accountability is key.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Lead and supervise second shift mechanics and technicians. Based on workload provided by manager.
+ Oversee the Preventive Maintenance Program
+ Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on trucks scheduled by manager.
+ Ensure all work is completed in compliance with DOT regulations and company standards.
+ Train and mentor junior mechanics, promoting a culture of safety and improvement.
+ Maintain and oversee the cleanliness of shop.
