The opportunity

We’re looking for SMRs at Manager/Senior rank with expertise in Business Analysis/Operational Technology/Control Systems (ADMS, OMS, DERMS, AMI, SCADA)to join the P&U Sector group of GDS Consulting Team. Your key responsibilities

  • Analyse, understand and document client needs from a Business perspective and work with the client to arrive at optimal solutions leveraging the experience and expertise in OT/Control systems (ADMS, OMS, DERMS, AMI, SCADA)

  • Identify and implement business process re-design and continuous improvements, working closely with Clients, Operations teams, and other business areas

  • Lead Project Scope Study workshops to understand the scope and key business requirements which must be met during the Execution phase

  • Identify integration needs with any other in house/third party systems and provide detailed information about these systems to Solution Architects as well as Technical Team

  • Act as an interface between Client Teams and Technical Team

  • Explore opportunities for transformation and suggest ideas/recommend ways to transform the way the client works to be truly digital in the Digital Era to outperform competitors and gain advantage in the market

  • Ability to assess Value Potential of a Transmission & Distribution transformation program and ability to architect the value proposal

  • Identify and develop commercialization solutions with substantial growth potential for
    power distribution clients, and provide advisory services to clients

  • Strong understanding and experience with the electric utility industry, including knowledge of Grid Operations, Field Operations, Smart Grids and Digital Grid

  • Deliver large/medium P&U Sector specific solutions/OT (ADMS, OMS, DERMS, AMI, SCADA) as well as Control Systems

  • Demonstrate expert core consulting skills and advanced level of OT/CS (ADMS, OMS, DERMS, AMI, SCADA) knowledge and industry expertise to support delivery to clients

  • Understanding Distributed Energy Resources or related experience in clean energy, energy efficiency, storage and solar

  • Perform an appropriate role in business development in terms of presales and practice development. for example, presales, internal engagement and / or knowledge management

  • Experience working with clients throughout various parts of implementation lifecycle

  • Proactive with Solution oriented mindset, ready to learn new technologies for Client requirements

  • Programme management experience and track record of successful delivery of large, complex programmes

  • Demonstrate people management and an ability to conduct and lead consultancy assignments

  • Be result oriented as well as people focused

  • Be able to manage a team, empathetic and work with Leadership for the development of the overall team

    • Professionals in this role are expected to bring expertise in emerging technologies and advanced solutions that enable utilities to thrive in a digital, sustainable future. These include:

  • AMI and Advanced Metering Infrastructure: Next-generation metering systems that go beyond traditional AMI, enabling real-time data collection, advanced analytics, and integration with distributed energy resources for improved grid visibility and customer engagement.

  • Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS): Knowledge of energy storage technologies and their role in grid stability, peak load management, and renewable integration. Ability to assess and design BESS solutions for operational efficiency and resilience.

  • Digital Twin Technologies: Experience in creating virtual replicas of physical assets and systems to simulate, monitor, and optimise grid operations, predictive maintenance, and scenario planning.

  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS): Proficiency in GIS platforms for spatial analysis, asset mapping, and network planning to enhance operational decision-making and outage management.

  • System Integration and Architecture Design: Capability to design robust integration frameworks and architectures that connect OT systems (ADMS, OMS, DERMS, SCADA) with IT platforms, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.

  • Smart Control Centre Solutions: Expertise in modern control centre technologies that enable real-time monitoring, automation, and advanced decision support for grid operations and distributed energy management.

  • Vegetation Management Tools and Strategies: Familiarity with digital tools and predictive analytics for vegetation monitoring and clearance planning to reduce outage risks and improve reliability.

    • To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Relevant experience in OT/CS (ADMS, OMS, DERMS, AMI, SCADA) Implementation /Technical advisory with total experience between 10 to 15 years (for Manager)

  • Relevant experience in OT/CS (ADMS, OMS, DERMS, AMI, SCADA) Implementation/Technical advisory with total experience between 6 to 10 years (for Senior)

  • Should be well versed with functional concepts of BA with relevant knowledge in OT/CS (ADMS, OMS, DERMS, AMI, SCADA) and Gap analysis

  • Should be well conversant in OT/CS (ADMS, OMS, DERMS, AMI, SCADA), products/technologies, frameworks, business metadata management and relevant architectural components.

  • Strong business analysis skills

  • Strong command over business process design

    • Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Good Business Writing skills

  • Good Communication skills

  • Maintaining end-to-end accountability and expectations for customer satisfaction and overall delivery excellence

  • Prioritize deliveries in conjunction with implementation team

  • Adopt a proactive, logical and organized approach to problem resolution

  • Any relevant product/platform certification
