Senior Wintel Technician

  • Initial contract to 30 June 2026
  • Australian Citizens with an active NV2 Government security clearance
  • Located in Canberra or Sydney

Duties:

  • Facilitate the design, build and distribution of secure ICT infrastructure.
  • Ensure technical solutions are aligned with best practice and relevant governance and security principles and frameworks.
  • Analyse, log, track and resolve complex issues pertaining to ICT infrastructure and applications.
  • Assist with the development of build defect remediation.
  • Create and peer review Standard Operating Procedure documentation (SOPs), build guides and related artefacts.
  • Identify and assess technical risks, and collaborate with project stakeholders to inform and provide mitigation options and caveats.
  • Provide SME advice to the customer and internal & external stakeholders.

Skills/Experience:

  • Technical mentoring and supporting of other SME’s within the Wintel team.
  • Demonstrated experience in the build, deploy and support of the following Microsoft technologies:
    • Windows Server 2019
    • SQL
    • Active Directory
    • Group Policy
    • DNS
    • PKI
    • VMWare VCF
    • Powershell
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing highly available/fault tolerant systems, networks and infrastructure in a connected, partially connected, degraded or often disconnected state.
  • Demonstrated ability to take customer requirements, standards and frameworks and apply in a practical application to future proposed solution designs and systems.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with demonstrable experience of presentation and engagement with stakeholders, projects and business areas.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience of the SEA2273 Minerva systems.
  • Knowledge and experience with Nutanix.
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly build, automate and deliver proof of concept systems to support analysis, testing, accreditation and development activities.
  • Experience with governance frameworks in relation to infrastructure service and security delivery including required subsystems (i.e. Australia Information Security Manual (ISM)).

Extension/s: 3 x 6 month option to extend

Security clearance: Active NV1 clearance is essential
