As a Security Officer - School Patrol in Denver, CO, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a higher-education location, you will conduct routine patrols of buildings and grounds, support access control and badge checks, and help spot and report security-related concerns. You will remain highly visible, assist students, staff, and visitors with customer-focused communication, and document activity using a computer and/or tablet.   • What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific policies, access procedures, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, residence halls exteriors, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter points; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor for suspicious activity, unsecured doors, hazards, and policy violations, and take appropriate action to help to deter incidents while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical calls, fire alarms, and facility issues, and request additional resources as needed.
  • Control access at designated entrances by checking identification, directing visitors, and assisting with after-hours entry procedures when assigned.
  • Observe and report unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and damaged property, and notify designated contacts for follow-up.
  • Complete detailed activity logs and incident reports in a timely manner, including documenting actions taken and parties involved.
  • Support crowd management and traffic flow during campus events, athletic activities, and peak arrival and departure times as directed.
  • Operate assigned communication equipment and systems, including radios and emergency phones, and maintain clear, professional communication with site personnel and/or local responders.
  • Assist with lost and found items, escorts upon request when available, and general information requests to support a positive campus experience.
  • Minimum Requirements:

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
