A leadingFederalGovernment is seeking a Security Policy Specialist to develop and refine protective security policies that safeguard our people, information, and resources across domestic and global networks. You will play a critical role in shaping policies that meet regulatory requirements while supporting DFAT’s operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop clear, accessible, and compliant protective security policies.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts through consultations and workshops.
• Identify policy interdependencies and ensure timely delivery of milestones.
• Produce supporting documentation such as procedures and guidance for implementation.
• Ensure alignment with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in corporate policy development for diverse stakeholders.
• Strong ability to interpret policy contexts and work collaboratively.
• Expertise in creating policies that meet legislative requirements and are written in plain English.
• Understanding of protective security environments (Australian and overseas) desirable.
• Ability to develop performance metrics for policy evaluation is an advantage.
