Job Description

This role is ideal for someone who is patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting children with complex communication and sensory needs.

The Role


  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with ASD


  • Supporting non-verbal communication, including PECS, visual timetables, Makaton, or AAC (where applicable)


  • Helping pupils regulate emotions and manage sensory needs


  • Supporting learning, personal care (where required), and social development


  • Working closely with SENCOs, teachers, and external professionals


  • Essential Skills & Qualities


  • Experience supporting children with ASD and/or non-verbal communication (school, care, or personal experience)


  • Calm, consistent, and empathetic approach


  • Understanding of sensory processing and behaviour as communication
