Senior Accountant

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Braga. This role will be responsible for accounting and administrative activities across both Portugal and the United Kingdom, requiring strong knowledge of Portuguese accounting and tax regulations, as well as the ability to work in an international environment. The position starts with a 9-month contract, with the opportunity to become permanent.
Key Responsibilities
Manage accounting activities for Portugal and the UK
Ensure compliance with SNC and support UK accounting requirements (UK GAAP)
Perform monthly and annual closings
Prepare and review tax and statutory filings and ensure compliance with Portuguese (VAT, IES/DA, Modelo 22, SAF-T PT) and UK tax obligations
Liaise with tax authorities and external advisors in PT and the UK
Reconcile and analyse general ledger accounts
Contribute to process improvements and standardisation (e.g. invoice automation)
