We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Accounting & Finance team at Mercer Celgar. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fibre inventory accounting, energy expense accounting and supporting various financial functions within our organization.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and oversee transactions for fibre inventory reconciliations and reporting

  • Prepare energy reconciliations and reporting, including energy certificates

  • Prepare month-end journal entries, accruals, and general ledger reconciliations

  • Support preparation of monthly financial statements.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls in a SOX compliant environment.

  • Prepare and distribute scheduled and ad hoc financial reports

  • Assist with the implementation and optimization of various accounting software
