Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented US Bookkeeping Associate with experience in legal accounting to manage end-to-end bookkeeping activities for US-based legal clients. The role involves trust accounting, reconciliations, payroll management, and compliance with legal and ethical accounting standards.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Handle trust accounting, including tracking and managing client funds in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Accurately record and reconcile attorney fees, expenses, and disbursements.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
- Manage end-to-end bookkeeping processes for assigned clients, including data entry, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Manage client payroll and payroll tax processes.
- Prepare and manage financial reports, budgets, cash-flow models, and supplemental reports.
- Ensure all financial transactions comply with legal accounting standards and trust accounting regulations.
- Work closely with legal professionals to understand and support their specific accounting requirements.
- Utilize legal accounting software and tools efficiently.
- Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to streamline bookkeeping operations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- CA Inter / CMA / CMA Inter with relevant experience.
- 2–4 years of experience in US bookkeeping for legal clients.
- Strong knowledge of legal accounting principles and trust accounting regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks and Xero .
- High attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
