Key Responsibilities:

·Provide assistance in departmental work planning.


·Manage Actuarial interaction with other departments.


·Review and update departmental procedures.


·Comply with AXA’s Risk Management framework and fulfilling all necessary requirements.


·Act as a backup for the Chief Actuary in their nominated Area of Specialist Knowledge.


·Check output generated by Actuarial Analysts.


·Design delegation and checking of bespoke management information requests as required.


·Mentor Actuarial Analysts; including delegation of work, induction planning and assisting with work planning.


·Support in Liaising with human resources and making the necessary arrangements for all recruitment exercises.


·Engage in actuarial internship program.


·Create and present of basic actuarial training modules.


·Create formal actuarial reports and regulator correspondences.

Valuation


·Develop regular company reporting including solvency margin and reserving.


·Calculate AXA’s embedded value.


·Model and forecast AXA’s 5 Year Plan & Financial Statements


·Prepare quarterly and annual regulatory and management reports.


·Assist in assumptions setting for pricing and valuation purposes.


·Project revenues and profits for the business cases and offers of potential banc assurance alliances

Reinsurance Team


·Calculate of monthly reinsurance premiums, commissions, and claims.


·Prepare of reinsurers’ account settlements.


·Manage the relationship with reinsurers and act as the front line in communication between the internal departments and the reinsurers.


·Monitor Reinsurance Cost.


·Assist in Reinsurance Structure Optimization Exercises.


·Prepare Treaty Renewal Pack.

Pricing & Portfolio Analysis Team


·Assist in products development, pricing, and portfolio reviews.


·Set assumptions for pricing and valuation purposes


·Project revenues and profits for the business cases and offers of potential banc assurance

Skills

Candidate Qualifications:


Business Knowledge/Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science (preferable) or Engineering.

  • Actuarial exam passes are a plus

  • Advance towards qualification as a Fellow of the Society or Institute of Actuaries

  • 2-4 years in Risk Management, Actuarial or another technical functions in an insurance, reinsurance or consulting company

  • Highly numerate, analytical and attentive to detail.

  • Excellent English and Arabic language skills (Verbal and Written)

  • A good understanding of actuarial concepts and analysis.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • Knowledge of Access, VBA, SAS and R is a plus
