System Administrator - JAMF

Responsibilities Include

  • Implementation, administration and configuration of JAMF Enterprise environment
  • MAC deployment automation architecture, design/migration and troubleshooting
  • Engaging Managed Service organizations to address quality JAMF policies and configuration and process concern
  • Contribute to development and ongoing improvement of industry best practices and standards for deploying enterprise MAC technologies
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to ensure technical solutions are compatible with the company's business needs and strategic objectives
  • Provide technical expertise, guidance and strategic recommendations to other IT groups
  • Investigate, analyze and resolve technical issues and actively pursue mechanisms for preventing, or automating the response to reoccurrences
  • Participate within the Agile Sprints in the Product Management and Engineering organization to ensure quality execution of all OS related changes that will affect the operations and support organization.
  • Review and approve all Knowledge Base articles
  • Engage and ensure any security changes or initiatives that might have Jamf related impacts are evaluated and reviewed with the IT operations and support organization
  • Engage in any changes with vendors to streamline Jamf related processes



Required Skills / Experience


  • 4+ years of prior experience in large enterprise environments supporting Jamf is required.
  • Familiarity with all recent releases of macOS (Sierra, High Sierra, Mojave, Catalina, Big sur). (features, patching, etc.)
  • Experience using the JAMF Casper Suite tools (Recon, Composer, Remote, Admin). Familiarity with various tools to assist in the deconstruction and rebuilding of installer packages (fseventer, Pacifist, Composer, InstaDMG, and autoPKG).
  • An in-depth understanding of the OS imaging process using JAMF
  • Knowledge of the role of the keychains in the user experience and overall knowledge of root and site certificates and their role in secure communication/browsing in macOS
  • Experience in working with third-party engineering level support (Apple, JAMF, various security vendors)
  • Knowledge in Intune Integration and JAMF Connect
  • The ability to clearly communicate to both team members and the user community. This may include writing RFCs, sending out email communications to management and/or the users, writing How-To documentation with step-by-step procedures to include supporting graphics (screen caps mostly)
  • Knowledge on Apple product to manage any development on Apple platforms (iOS, MacOS, etc.)
  • Knowledge on Apple product to publish iOS app on the Apple App Store
  • Jamf 100 certified mandatory and Jamf200 desired.
