Senior Ai Engineer

vConstruct is an entrepreneurial organization and has forayed into product development for construction by leveraging its deep understanding of construction processes. We have a dedicated team of people who come from the construction domain and technology domain to build solutions for problems we see in the construction management workflows by leveraging 3D (BIM), Web and Mobile, AI/ML and IoT. In less than 3 years we have built some amazing products such as NirmaanXD, DeciLean and around 10 BIM based automations.

We are looking for individuals who can Build applied AI for construction. Rapidly prototype, validate with real users, and harden into production-grade features. Own GenAI and ML capabilities across planning, execution, cost, quality, and risk workflows. Deliver systems that impact live construction projects, not demos

Responsibilities

• Run rapid AI experiments to validate high-impact construction use cases.
• Design and deploy AI/GenAI features for:
• Project planning and scheduling
• Cost forecasting and variance detection
• Risk prediction and mitigation
• Quality and safety analytics
• Document intelligence (drawings, BOQs, RFIs, contracts)
• Integrate LLMs (GPT, Claude, Llama) for:
• Construction copilots
• Automated reports and insights
• Conversational project intelligence
• Build ML models for:
• Schedule delay prediction
• Cost overrun forecasting
• Productivity and resource optimization
• Safety risk scoring
• Build RAG systems over structured and unstructured construction data.
• Build ML models for delay prediction, cost overruns, productivity, and safety risks.
• Partner with data engineering on pipelines, feature stores, and serving infra.
• Work with product and UX to convert business needs into AI-first features.
• Own model deployment, monitoring, drift detection, and optimization.
• Ensure enterprise-grade scalability, reliability, and security inside SaaS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS, Engineering, AI/ML, or equivalent experience.
• 5–8+ years building production software.
• 2+ years building AI/ML systems.
• 1+ year delivering GenAI or LLM-based features.

Deep experience with:

• PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn
• Transformers, LangChain
• Proven SaaS AI integration at scale.
• Cloud experience: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• MLOps: CI/CD, monitoring, versioning, lifecycle management.
• RAG systems and vector databases (FAISS, Pinecone, etc.).
• Strong NLP and deep learning fundamentals.
• SQL and large-scale data handling.
• Clear technical communication across product, design, and business.

Preferred

• Construction or infrastructure domain experience.
• Experience with:
• Drawings, BIM, BOQs, RFIs, submittals, schedules
• Hands-on with OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source LLMs.
• Strong rapid-prototyping and experimentation mindset.
• Startup or innovation lab background.
• Responsible AI, governance, and security practices.
• Real-time inference and streaming data.
• Open-source AI/ML contributions.
