Job Summary

If you are a Steam Sizing Specialist, Emerson has an exciting role for you! We are looking for a Sales Engineer to support Steam Conditioning and work with our North American Team. This role is responsible for providing independent engineering support for technical/application support to the sales channel, focusing specifically on Steam conditioning applications. This support can take the form of sizing/selection of products for large projects or competitive displacements, troubleshooting issues with valves in the field, or providing training for the global sales channel and customers. A Steam specialist also serves as an internal source of expertise, helping to mentor, train, and develop industry sales engineers, and provide input into the development of new technologies and tools that will grow the Severe Service business.

This role will work independently to support Steam conditioning globally (NA/Europe/AP/MEA). You will be responsible for working with Steam Water Utilities team in Marshalltown and Product Engineers on finalizing solutions for severe service applications in process industry.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Provide application and technical support for our Steam Conditioning Products including

    In depth valve sizing and selection

    Field issue resolution

    Product technology presentations

    Critical application knowledge

    Technical lead selling

  • Support sizing for our global sales network leveraging an array of steam sizing and selection tools to provide product solutions

  • Drive technical differentiation of Fisher and Sempell steam products, services and solutions with end-users, OEMs, EPCs.

  • Address unique sizing and selection challenges tied to steam conditioning, desuperheating, pressure reducing valves, spray water valves, straight pipe length, actuator sizing, dynamic performance

  • Showcase our knowledge through articles in industrial magazines and abstracts at industry conferences

  • Collaborate with global industry sales teams, product engineering, and global sales channel to provide an optimized solution to meet the process conditions

  • Work with sales and engineering on process improvement and speed of response

  • Engage with sales in technical proposals and provide tiering approach based on customer specs

  • Resolve field issues and understand how the control valve affects the overall steam system

    For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience of any Engineering background.

  • Knowledge of all Fisher products and accessories.

  • Understanding of product specifications and Incoterms.

  • Adequate knowledge of sizing control valves for industry specific applications

  • Knowledge of MIB strategy & implementation skilled in using the FF2 tool

  • Basic knowledge of Inactive/obsolete/Competitor products.

  • Degree in Mechanical/Instrumentation/Chemical/Metallurgical Engineering.

  • Basic understanding of MS word, excel and power point.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
