About the role
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Associate General Counsel (APAC) to join our Global Legal team to support our APAC region (Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia). This is a senior, highly visible role where you will act as a trusted legal business partner to Senior Vice Presidents and their leadership teams across the region. We are seeking a senior lawyer to lead with a positive, collaborative mindset, mentoring and developing high performance talent and fostering a culture of engagement and accountability and to actively champion high impact projects and cross‑functional initiatives that align with organizational strategy and deliver measurable outcomes.
Reporting to the General Counsel, APAC based in Singapore, and leading a team of lawyers, you will act as the primary legal advisor to Senior Vice Presidents and their leadership teams, providing strategic guidance on contracts, risk management, and complex business matters. You will support project capture and execution teams on contractual and other legal risks and issues by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating relevant contracts, and by providing legal guidance on change management, commercial matters, and potential claims or disputes with customers and third parties.

Global Level Summary
Senior legal leader within the APAC Legal team, setting strategic direction for legal and contracting activities across multiple regions or business units. Leads legal teams, drives the development and global implementation of legal systems, and oversees continuous improvement initiatives. Advises executive leadership on high‑impact legal and business matters, shapes organizational strategy, and represents the company in major negotiations and external forums. Champions the professional development and succession planning of the legal team.
Key accountabilities include
Decision Making
- Make strategic legal decisions impacting multiple regions or business units
- Set legal risk appetite and escalation protocols
Leadership & Supervision
- Lead and develop legal teams across APAC
- Oversee performance management, succession planning, and capability development
- Train, coach and mentor junior attorneys in the APAC region
Communication & Influence
- Shape organizational strategy through persuasive communication with executive leadership
- Represent Worley in high‑stakes negotiations and external forums
Systems, Processes & Tools
- Set strategic direction for legal systems and processes
- Drive global implementation, continuous improvement, and adoption of legal technology
Strategic Impact
- Lead cross‑functional and global projects
- Shape legal strategy to support business growth and sustainability goals
What you’ll bring
- A Law degree from an accredited university and an active license to practice law in at least one Worley jurisdiction (as legally required)
- Significant relevant legal experience, with in‑house experience preferred
- Experience operating within a global or matrixed organization
- Familiarity with legal systems, technology tools, and the application of AI in legal practice
