About the Role

We are looking for a bright, energetic, and detail-oriented Payroll Operations Specialist to join our People Support Team. This role focuses on accurate, timely, and compliant monthly payroll processing for India, with potential exposure to international payroll (UK, US, Portugal). The ideal candidate has prior payroll experience, strong analytical skills, and a passion for process excellence.


Key Responsibilities

Payroll Operations

  • Execute end-to-end monthly payroll for assigned entities with 100% accuracy.
  • Validate all payroll inputs, including new joiners, exits, salary changes, variable pay, reimbursements, and one-time payments.
  • Conduct pre- and post-payroll checks to ensure data integrity and error-free output.
  • Deliver payroll within defined SLAs and timelines.
  • Work primarily on India payroll with potential exposure to international payroll processes (UK/US/Portugal).

Compliance & Statutory Requirements

  • Share accurate payroll data with vendors for statutory filings.
  • Coordinate with statutory vendors to ensure timely filing and reconciliation of monthly, quarterly, and annual returns.
  • Stay informed on changes in payroll laws, regulations, and statutory requirements

Employee Support & Query Resolution

  • Act as the first point of contact for employee payroll queries via Workday help cases.
  • Ensure timely resolution of issues within defined SLAs.
  • Conduct payroll awareness sessions and training for employees and colleagues

Reporting & Audits

  • Prepare monthly payroll reports, dashboards, and variance analyses.
  • Handle payroll reconciliations with the Finance team for payouts and accounting.
  • Support year-end activities including Form 16, audit schedules, and statutory reporting.
  • Assist internal and external auditors with required documentation.

Systems & Process Improvements

  • Work on payroll systems and tools such as Workday, Pluxee, and the HGS portal.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and participate in automation or efficiency initiatives.
  • Contribute to the creation and improvement of SOPs and process documentation.


What We’re Looking For

  • Prior experience in India payroll processing (mandatory).
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage high-volume data.
  • Good understanding of statutory compliance and payroll regulations.
  • Proficiency with payroll systems (Workday experience preferred).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset with willingness to learn and grow
