Position: Senior Backend Cloud Developer

The Krones Group, headquartered in Neutraubling, Germany, plans, develops, and manufactures machines and complete lines for the fields of process technology, bottling, and packaging, plus intralogistics and recycling. Every day, millions of bottles, cans and containers are "processed" in Krones lines - in alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage industries, dairy and liquid food industry as well as in the chemical, pharmaceutical and home & personal care industries.

Krones Digital Solutions India is created as of 2023 to be the Technology Competence Centre for Krones, focusing on developing software solutions for the Internal organization as well as for the customers of Krones Global.
Who are we looking for?
Krones Digital Solutions India is looking for a Senior Backend Cloud Developer who will be responsible for building robust, scalable, and high-performance serverless and microservices based
systems.
He/she will be the primary architect and coder for our backend services, moving beyond generalist leadership to take deep ownership of the server-side logic, data persistence, and cloud infrastructure.
You will collaborate with front-end teams, and your focus will be on creating the backbone of our digital products using Python and AWS.
The role will be based in Bangalore and will report directly to the Head of Cloud, KDSI.

Your responsibilities would include but are not limited to the below:
- Backend Architecture: Lead the design and implementation of complex, cloud-native backend architecture using microservices and event-driven patterns.
- High-Performance Coding: Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services using Python (Fast API, Flask, or Django).
- Cloud Infrastructure: Architect and manage scalable environments within AWS, specifically leveraging Lambda, API Gateway, S3, and EC2.
- Data Management: Design, optimize, and scale both SQL (Postgre SQL) and No SQL (Dynamo DB, Mongo DB) databases.
- Dev Ops & Security: Define and uphold security best practices, CI/CD pipeline optimization (Jenkins, Bit Bucket), and observability through Open Telemetry.
- Technical Mentorship: Provide deep-dive code reviews and mentor junior developers in backend best practices and cloud-native design.
- System Reliability: Own backend performance monitoring and incident resolution, driving root cause analysis for infrastructure issues.

What are we looking for? (Experience/Qualifications/Skillsets/Must-haves)
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Computer Science/Mathematics/Physics or a comparable qualification with 8 – 12 years of relevant experience.
Skill sets:
- Strong proficiency in Python (Flask, Fast API, Django or similar frameworks).
- Solid experience designing and building cloud-native systems on AWS.
Hands-on experience with AWS Athena, including:
- querying large datasets in S3
- optimizing queries and partitions
- integrating Athena with backend services and analytics workflows
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services, including Lambda, API Gateway, EC2, S3, IAM, Cloud Watch
- Experience designing and implementing microservices and event-driven architecture.
- Strong experience building RESTful APIs (API design, versioning, performance).
- Proficiency with SQL and No SQL databases: Postgre SQL, Dynamo DB, Mongo DB (or equivalent)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and automated deployments.
- Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration using ECS/EKS/Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles, IAM, least-privilege access.
- Experience with production observability (logging, metrics, monitoring)
Must have:
- Python, REST APIs, clean code, service design
