The Opportunity

We're seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design and evolve the foundational systems that power modern data and AI experiences. You'll join a high-impact team focused on distributed infrastructure, data pipelines, and developer productivity at global scale.

This is a role where your work directly shapes the performance, reliability, and scalability of a platform used by thousands of enterprises daily.

What You'll Do

• Architect and build robust, distributed backend services for large-scale data processing and storage
• Optimize and scale systems handling petabytes of real-time data
• Design APIs and service interfaces enabling cross-team collaboration and modular platform growth
• Improve performance, fault tolerance, and observability across the platform
• Collaborate closely with product, infrastructure, and ML engineering teams to accelerate innovation across data + AI workflows

What You Bring

• 8+ years of backend software engineering experience in large-scale production environments
• Deep proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python, with strong fundamentals in algorithms, concurrency, and distributed systems
• Experience designing cloud-native systems (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with containers, Kubernetes, or service meshes
• Proven track record building reliable, high-throughput services or data pipelines
• Familiarity with SQL, Spark, Delta Lake, or similar data systems a plus
• Passion for clean, performant code and a high degree of ownership over technical outcomes
