Freese and Nicholsisseeking aBIM/CAD Designerto join ourHouston, Texasoffice.
You will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects within our Water/Wastewater Treatment group.The CAD design work will include preparation of construction drawings for water and wastewater treatment plants, elevated storage tanks, pumping stations, and utility projects. Types of drawings needed are site plans, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, hydraulicprofile, mechanical plans,sectionsand details which include mechanical equipment, piping systems, supports and instrumentation.Primary responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Understandsproject requirements, scope, and deliverables, making informed decisions trusted by engineers.
Providesconceptual input during project planning andidentifiesareas for quality improvements.
Prepare detailed drawings and layouts, applying theoretical and practical engineering knowledge.
Performs design tasks requiring fundamental engineering concepts with minimal direction.
Coordinate with design teams, stakeholders, and other disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.
Ensures deliverables meet professional standards, performing BIM/CAD quality control and continuous improvement.
Utilizes company CAD standards,maintainsdrawing files, and supports best practices.
Acts as a liaison between CAD Managers and users,assistingin implementing company policies andnew technologies.
Participates in hiring processes, training, and mentoring team members.
Focuses on self-development, efficiency, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
The candidate must work well as part of a design team and communicate effectively.Candidateshould have a positive attitude,a highattention to detail, a desire to produce quality work, and a strong work ethic. During the interview process, the candidate maybe requiredtoparticipatein a short andfacilitatedAutoCAD or Revit skills assessment.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
8+ years with a broad base in engineering design and technical supportofengineering.
Advancedexpertisein computer operationand inCAD software.
Proven ability to learn, adapt, and problem-solve to produceaccurateand quality deliverables.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
Associate degree in BIM/CADdrafting and design
Experience using Revit
