Senior Bookkeeper - Internal Finance

About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join an internal finance team within a professional services environment. Reporting to a supportive and approachable Finance Manager, you will be a key member of the Corporate Services team, providing high-quality financial support to a group of accounting professionals.

This role is suited to an experienced Bookkeeper or Finance Officer with strong Xero and payroll experience. It is not an entry-level position and requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who takes pride in delivering accurate and timely financial services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Processing debtor receipts and preparing banking
  • Preparation, processing, and payment of creditors
  • Monthly balance sheet and account reconciliations
  • Preparation and processing of fortnightly payroll for 100+ employees
  • Trust account management and associated documentation
  • Preparation of year-end files for external auditors
  • Petty cash reimbursements and reconciliations
  • Assistance with general ledger maintenance, reporting obligations, and internal financial reporting
  • Support with filing, archiving, and general administrative duties as required

About You

  • Previous experience as a bookkeeper or in a finance/accounts role
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero and payroll processing
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and discretion
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously while also being a collaborative team player
  • Sound judgement and a professional, service-focused approach
  • Passionate about building a long-term career in finance within a people-focused environment

Accounting qualifications are not essential.
