Overview
Title: Senior Bookkeeper, U.S. Client Services (Fully Remote)
Location: Fully Remote (within Colombia)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
Legal Requirement: You must be a citizen or permanent resident of Colombia with the legal right to work without visa sponsorship. This is a non-negotiable requirement.
About Ignium Talent: Ignium Talent builds and manages elite, remote accounting teams for premier U.S. bookkeeping and fractional CFO firms. We are creating a community for the top 1% of financial professionals in Latin America, providing a stable, professional, and tech-forward environment to do your best work for high-growth U.S. clients.
The Opportunity: This is not a typical bookkeeping role. It is a position for a problem-solver who wants to be a cornerstone of a world-class, fully remote accounting team. We are hiring a foundational Senior Bookkeeper to be the engine of a dedicated client pod, responsible for delivering flawless financial data and upholding the highest standards of excellence.
Who You Are: A Troubleshooter, Not Just a Task-Doer
You find deep satisfaction in transforming messy books into pristine financial statements. You see broken processes as puzzles to be solved and are driven by a relentless pursuit of accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Full-Cycle Bookkeeping: Manage all aspects of the general ledger, expertly categorizing transactions and troubleshooting complex bank feed issues in QuickBooks Online.
- Month-End Close: Execute the complete month-end close process with precision, including performing complex bank and credit card reconciliations and posting all necessary journal entries.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare standard monthly financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, etc.) for review by the Account Manager.
- Process Excellence: Meticulously follow and help refine client-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) using our project management tool, Asana.
- Internal Collaboration: Work closely with your Account Manager and pod members, communicating via Teams to solve problems as a team. (This role does not involve direct communication with the end client).
Qualifications
- You have a minimum of 4 years of hands-on, full-cycle bookkeeping experience, managing the books for multiple clients or complex business units.
- You have 2+ years of experience using QuickBooks Pro and are ready to get your ProAdvisor Certification if you do not already have it.
- You have a deep, practical understanding of the 10 Core Competencies of a modern bookkeeper, from advanced bank reconciliation troubleshooting to payroll journal entries and app integration fixes.
- You are exceptionally tech-savvy and thrive in a modern software stack (QBO, Asana, Slack, Google Workspace).
- Your written and spoken English is strong and professional (C1 level).
- You are fanatically detail-oriented and don't just follow checklists; you internalize the "why" behind them and proactively identify areas for improvement.
Our Process & Commitment
- Stage 1: Application & Certification Review. Your application will be reviewed for baseline experience. Submitting your current QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certificate is also part of this stage - or please confirm with proof that you are actively pursuing it or willing to do so following an introductory call.
- Stage 2: The Live Practical Exam. This is the core of our assessment. You will join a 30-minute, recorded Zoom call where you will be given access to a "messy" QuickBooks Online file. You will have 30 minutes to clean up the file and reconcile accounts while thinking out loud, followed by a debrief to explain your process and rationale.
- Stage 3: The Final Interview. The top candidates from the practical exam will be invited to a final strategic conversation with our founder to discuss client management scenarios, team collaboration, and long-term career growth.
Our Commitment: A Process That Respects Your Expertise
