Senior Build & Developer Platform Engineer

JOB OVERVIEW

Plan A Technologies is looking for a Senior Build & Developer Platform Engineer to improve build performance, reduce CI waste, and standardize tooling across a large and fragmented codebase. This role focuses heavily on Bazel expertise and frontend build standardization, enabling faster iteration and safer dependency management across hundreds of applications.

You will work closely with frontend and platform teams to bring consistency, scalability, and maintainability to the build ecosystem.

Please note: you must have at least 4+ years of hands-on experience with Bazel in large codebases to be considered for this role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

• Optimize and tune Bazel builds for speed, reliability, and scalability
• Standardize frontend build pipelines and configurations
• Reduce duplication and inefficiencies across CI workflows
• Improve supportability and maintainability of build tooling
• Collaborate with frontend teams to align on shared dependencies and patterns
• Act as a senior advisor on build system design and best practices

EXPERIENCE

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
• 7+ years of software or platform engineering experience
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Bazel in large codebases
• Strong understanding of CI/CD systems and build optimization
• Experience supporting frontend build tooling at scale
• Ability to work across teams and influence technical standards
• Experience standardizing builds across micro-frontend architectures
• Experience improving developer experience (DX) at scale
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Initiative and drive to do great things.
