Senior Business Development Manager – Sydney
We’re expanding our sales capability in Sydney and we’re looking for a high‑performing, commercially savvy Senior Business Development Manager to accelerate First Table’s growth across Sydney, one of our most important and dynamic markets.

This senior individual contributor role is perfect for someone who not only excels in sales execution but also loves elevating the capability of those around them. You’ll bring deep experience in business development, a track record of exceeding targets, and the ability to influence and shape how we grow.
You’ll join a collaborative team of BDMs across Australia, New Zealand and the UK, and partner closely with Sydney‑based BDMs, our Country Sales Manager and Chief Commercial Officer. With a strong foundation of restaurant partners already established in Sydney, you’ll help take our footprint and commercial performance to the next level.
This is a remote‑first role with regular in‑person meetings with restaurant partners, team sessions, and opportunities to contribute nationally.

About The Role
As a Senior BDM, you set the benchmark for sales performance. This role combines high‑impact business development with peer‑level leadership and special project ownership.
You’ll lead by example in how you manage your pipeline, open doors, influence decision makers, and deliver commercial results. You’ll play a key role in capability building across the BDM team and may take on a special remit (e.g., category growth, key city expansion, or onboarding/training support).
You’ll work collaboratively with another Sydney‑based BDM, each owning your own patch while working together to ensure strong market coverage and shared success.
What you’ll be doing
- Own the commercial performance of your patch, setting the standard for sales discipline, growth, and execution.
- Build long‑lasting, win‑win relationships with restaurants in your assigned patch.
- Identify, pitch, and convert high‑value restaurant partners across Sydney.
- Maintain a disciplined, insight‑driven approach to pipeline management and CRM usage.
- Share winning practices, tools, and insights with the wider sales team to lift capability.
- Drive commercial initiatives that support both restaurant acquisition and diner engagement.
- Support the onboarding, coaching, or development of new or growing BDMs.
- Bring deep understanding of market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities to inform strategy.
What you’ll bring
- Proven experience exceeding sales targets in BD, sales, partnerships or account management within the hospitality or food‑tech industry.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills.
- Experience mentoring peers or supporting capability building.
- Strong commercial acumen, with strategic thinking and a growth mindset.
- Excellent territory planning, pipeline management, and CRM discipline.
- High resilience and self‑motivation in a fast‑paced, remote‑friendly environment.
