Senior Cloud Developer

Knowledge & Skills (Must Have) :

Excellent SQL skills

• Understanding of relational databases and schemas
• Creating stored procedures from scratch
• Debugging production SQL errors
• Identifying, testing, and promoting fixes to SQL scripts

Microsoft Azure experience

• Azure Data Factory (creating, running, troubleshooting pipelines)
• Azure Data Lake
• DevOps - Releases and pipelines
• Desirable : Application Insights / Azure Dashboards
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and organi ional ability
• Experience developing code to a prescribed standard for peer review in London
• Communication with external stakeholders, and with engineers and end-users
• Self-starter, can operate independently without awaiting instructions
• Thrives working in a collaborative and team environment

Strongly desirable

• Microsoft SQL Server experience - bonus if DBA experience
• Prior engineering experience - working in DevOps and CI/CD
• JIRA ticket management
• IT competent
• Knowledge of financial instruments either through study or work
• Incident management (can take the lead for live system incidents)

Desirable but not necessary

• Good Python experience (familiar with pandas and pyodbc essential)
• JavaScript or other front end UI development, e.g. React

Experience:

• 7+ years of total experience in data/cloud
• Microsoft Azure experience (2+ year)
• Excellent SQL skills (4+ years Microsoft SQL Server full ETL experience, confident and independent)
• Knowledge of financial instruments (1+ years) either through study or work
• Good Excel skills (3+ years)
• Python experience desirable

Educational Qualification:

• Graduate in any discipline
