Senior Computer Vision / Edge AI Developer – Offline Object Detection System
Project Overview
We are a UK-based software company seeking an experienced Computer Vision / Edge AI engineer to help build an offline object detection system running on a local edge device.
The system will:
- Take input from a fixed camera
- Perform real-time object detection
- Run fully offline on Linux
- Output structured JSON data to a local API endpoint
- Be deployed using Docker containers
Full commercial context will be shared with shortlisted candidates under NDA.
Core Technical Requirements
You will design and implement:
- Ubuntu-based edge deployment
- YOLO-based object detection pipeline
- Real-time camera ingestion (USB or RTSP)
- Dockerised inference service
- REST API returning JSON results
- Simple health/status endpoint
- Clear setup documentation
