Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced IBM Sterling EDI Specialist to join our B2 B Integration team. You will be responsible for the end-to-end support, maintenance, and optimization of our IBM Sterling B2 B Integrator (B2 Bi) and Sterling File Gateway (SFG) platforms. A critical part of this role involves managing the integration touchpoints between the Sterling platform and our SAP ERP (S/4 HANA/ECC) environment using IDOCs and the SAP Suite Adapter.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Support (L2/L3): Monitor daily EDI document flows (X12, EDIFACT, XML) and resolve failures in a high-volume environment.
- SAP Integration: Manage and troubleshoot the SAP Suite Adapter on IBM Sterling. Monitor SAP IDOC status (WE02/WE05) and resolve communication errors between Sterling and SAP via RFC/ALE.
- Map Development: Maintain and enhance EDI maps using Sterling Map Editor (EDI-to-IDOC, IDOC-to-EDI, Flat File, and XML).
- Business Process Management: Design and troubleshoot complex BPML (Business Process Modeling Language) flows for automation and error handling.
- Partner Onboarding: Use Sterling File Gateway (SFG) to onboard new trading partners, set up routing channels, and configure communication protocols (AS2, SFTP, Connect: Direct).
- Platform Maintenance: Assist in patching and upgrading to v6.2.x. Monitor system health using SQL Manager, Performance Dashboards, and Perimeter Server logs.
Required Technical Skills
- Core Platform: 5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Sterling B2 B Integrator and Sterling File Gateway.
- EDI Standards: Deep knowledge of ANSI X12 (850, 855, 856, 810) and EDIFACT (ORDERS, DESADV, INVOIC).
- SAP Touchpoints: Strong experience with SAP IDOC structures, ALE configuration, and the Sterling SAP Suite Adapter.
- Protocols: Proficiency in AS2 (certificate management), SFTP, FTPS, and HTTP/S.
- Database/OS: Proficient in writing SQL queries for troubleshooting (Oracle/DB2/MSSQL) and working in Linux/Unix environments.
Preferred Qualifications (2026 Standards)
- Certification: IBM Certified Sterling File Gateway v6.2 Administrator (C ) is a major plus.
- Modern Infrastructure: Experience with Certified Container Edition (Open Shift or Kubernetes) deployments.
- API Integration: Familiarity with REST/SOAP APIs for modernizing B2 B connections.
- SAP S/4 HANA: Direct experience with S/4 HANA's cloud integration layers.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication skills to interact with global trading partners and SAP functional teams (SD/MM/FI).
- Strong analytical mindset for root-cause analysis (RCA) of complex transmission failures.
