Summary: Senior Executive – Air Operations

The Assistant Air Operations Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating air freight operations for South region within the freight forwarding industry. Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, this role involves overseeing daily air logistics activities, ensuring timely shipment processing, customs compliance, and effective communication with carriers and customers. The Assistant Air Operations Manager proactively optimizes operational efficiency, maintains high service quality, and addresses operational challenges promptly.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Manage daily air freight forwarding operations, including shipment booking, scheduling, and tracking.
  • Coordinate and maintain strong relationships with airlines, carriers, agents, and customers to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries.
  • Ensure strict compliance with international air transport regulations, customs requirements, and internal operational policies.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues promptly, including shipment delays, documentation discrepancies, and customs clearance challenges.
  • Monitor and evaluate operational performance metrics and KPIs, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare accurate operational reports and maintain detailed shipment documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams (sales, customer service, and finance) to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to the Branch Manager on operational status, challenges, and improvements.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices in air freight forwarding.

  • Graduate / bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in air freight operations.
  • Proven experience in air freight operations within the freight forwarding industry.
  • Strong understanding of international air logistics processes, customs regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical abilities to address operational challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of interacting effectively with airlines, carriers, customers, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in logistics software systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
