MWH Constructors, a global leader in heavy civil construction of water and wastewater facilities, is currently seeking a Senior Counsel to support company operations out of our Broomfield, CO corporate headquarters.

Essential Functions
- Responsible for providing legal counsel and guidance on day‑to‑day corporate activities and special situations.
- Analyzes legal matters arising in connection with project pursuit and execution and provides advice and counsel to project management and Senior executives.
- Participates in evaluation, negotiation and integration of mergers and acquisitions.
- Support the legal and risk management functions for the organization, including contracts, licensing, insurance and bonding.
- Negotiate, write and execute agreements and contracts on behalf of the company.
- Research and advise on contract status, legal risks, and the legal liabilities associated with different contracts/agreements; anticipate unique legal issues that could impact the company.
- Negotiate various types of contracts, teaming agreements, prime contracts, subcontracts and joint venture agreements.
- Be an active leader for construction and/or engineering claims and disputes with contractors, owners and subcontractors.
- Support special projects, such as research, transactional documentation, and changes in guidelines, policies, procedures and presentations.
- Implement MWH legal and risk policies, processes and procedures.
- Provide/facilitate training to job site leadership on legal topics.
Basic Qualifications
- J.D. degree and license to practice law.
- Minimum 8+ years of related work experience within an engineering or construction company or a law firm in the construction and/or engineering field.
- Comprehensive knowledge of industry business practices and the negotiation of prime contracts, subcontracts, teaming agreements, joint venture agreements, project management agreements, parent company guarantees, and related contracts.
- Proven construction claims preparations, negotiations and settlement skills.
- Strong negotiating skills with both legal and financial/commercial issues.
- Strong understanding of construction insurance and bonding.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and an ability to interact with and provide counsel to senior management.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships within the organization’s legal department and across all businesses.

Salary Range: $210,000 - $230,000 Annually
