Senior Data / Business Analyst

Job Description:

About the Role:

An experienced and analytical Business Analyst with strong skills in Python, SQL, and Excel, along with expertise in data validation and Power BI dashboard analysis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating processed data, reviewing dashboards for accuracy, and providing actionable insights that enhance business reporting and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Validation & Quality Assurance

? Perform data validation and reconciliation between raw and processed datasets to ensure accuracy and

integrity.

? Use SQL to verify data correctness, completeness, and consistency across multiple sources.

? Develop Python scripts or automated checks for data validation and anomaly detection.

? Build and maintain data validation frameworks and documentation for recurring analyses.

? Identify and escalate discrepancies or logic gaps in data to relevant teams.

Requirement gathering, Dashboard Review & Analysis

? Validate and review Power BI dashboards, ensuring the accuracy of KPIs, metrics, and visualizations.

? Cross-verify dashboard data and calculations using SQL queries and Python-based checks.

? Evaluate dashboard logic, data models, and filters to confirm alignment with business requirements.

? Conduct UAT (User Acceptance Testing) for new or updated reports/dashboards prior to release.

Business Insights & Recommendations

? Analyze validated data to extract business insights, trends, and process improvement opportunities.

? Review existing dashboards and provide recommendations for design, usability, and data flow

enhancements.

? Collaborate with business, data, and BI teams to ensure accurate and meaningful analytics delivery.

Collaboration & Documentation

? Maintain comprehensive documentation of data validation steps, business rules, and dashboard checks.

? Work closely with data engineers, BI developers, and business stakeholders to resolve data-related issues.

? Communicate findings and insights effectively through presentations, reports, and visual summaries.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Education:

o (Information Technology / Computer Science) or BCA + MCA.

• Professional Experience:

o Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or BI Analyst.

• Technical Skills:

o SQL: Strong proficiency for querying, data validation, and reconciliation.

o Python: Hands-on experience for data manipulation, validation scripts, and automation.

o Power BI: Deep understanding of dashboards, data models, DAX, and report validation.

o Excel: Advanced Excel capabilities including pivot tables, lookups, and complex formula-based

validation.

o Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, .

o Understanding of ETL processes, data mapping, and data warehousing concepts.

• Analytical & Soft Skills:

o Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and data accuracy.

o Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

o Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and agile environments.

• Preferred (Good-to-Have) Skills:

o Familiarity with Tableau, Looker, or Qlik BI tools.

o Knowledge of data pipelines and automation frameworks.

o Experience defining, tracking, and reporting business KPIs and operational metrics.
