Position Details

• Role: Senior Data Engineer / Databricks Engineer

• Experience: 6–10 Years

• Duration: 6 Months to 1 year (Contract-to-Hire)

• Location: Bangalore (Hybrid)

• Notice Period: Immediate to 14 days only

Mandatory Skills (Must-Have)

Candidates must have demonstrated hands-on experience with:

• At least 2 end-to-end Databricks projects

• Databricks Unity Catalog (Data Governance)

• Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold)

• Metadata-driven pipeline design

• Minimum 3 years of Databricks experience

• AWS Cloud (working knowledge)

• Microsoft Fabric experience

Role & Responsibilities

The Databricks Engineer will:

• Develop and optimize ETL processes using Databricks and Apache Spark

• Design and implement efficient data models and schemas

• Work with data scientists and analysts to build and deploy ML models

• Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across pipelines

• Optimize query performance and troubleshoot data processing issues

• Implement data security and access controls

• Stay updated with latest Databricks features and best practices

• Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing

• Mentor junior data engineers

• Maintain documentation for data workflows

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field

• 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering

• Strong proficiency in Databricks & Apache Spark

• Excellent SQL and experience with Python or Scala

• Hands-on experience with Unity Catalog

• Proven experience in designing ETL pipelines

• Strong understanding of big data & distributed computing

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP

• Familiarity with Git version control

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Good communication and collaboration skills

• Knowledge of data warehousing & analytics concepts

• Understanding of data governance & compliance standards

• Experience with real-time streaming (optional but preferred)

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Databricks Certification – Preferred
