As a Data Engineer at TELUS AI Data Solutions, you'll play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimising data pipelines, enabling the seamless flow of information critical for driving strategic decisions and enhancing customer experiences.

Responsibilities :

• Collaborate with data analysts, product managers, engineering devs and QA and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and implement effective data solutions.
• Develop and maintain scalable ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to move data from various sources into data warehouses and lakes.
• Design and optimise data pipelines for efficient data processing, transformation, and storage.
• Implement data quality checks and monitoring mechanisms to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipeline performance, reliability, and integrity.
• Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies in data engineering.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Proven experience of a minimum of 2 years as a Data Engineer, building and optimizing data pipelines and architectures.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is beneficial.
• Experience in Github version control system and agile development methodologies is an advantage
• Proficiency in using Python as a programming language for data integration/data pipelines
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions and data lake technologies . (example - BigQuery)
• Familiarity with Google Cloud platform (cloud function, cloud run, cloud storage, BigQuery) is desirable
• Familiarity with relational and non-relational database systems such as MongoDB and Postgres
• Familiarity with SQL data modeling concepts
• Familiarity with serverless cloud functions (ex. AWS Lambda, Google Functions)
• Strong understanding of ETL principles and data pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
