Senior Data Engineer / Data Architect 

I am looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join my client, a leading international provider of photonics sensors, near Stuttgart, Germany. In this dynamic position, you will play a pivotal role in shaping IoT data infrastructure and helping to create a scalable data catalogue to streamline metadata management efficiently.

Primary responsibilities

Design and optimise a highly efficient storage layer capable of handling vast amounts of sensor data, prioritising data integrity, speed, and scalability

Contribute to the development of a hybrid (Cloud and Edge) IoT data infrastructure

Construct a robust and scalable data catalogue, incorporating optimal approaches for different data

Essential experience

Relevant technical degree in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Computer Science or similar

Minimum 4+ years industry experience in data engineering, and at least one year as a data architect in the area of Big Data, IoT and the management of sensor data for data analysis and machine learning

Knowledge of state-of-the-art storage technologies and their productive use noSQL, time series databases, document stores, graph databases, etc.

Familiarity with leading cloud platforms AWS, and experience in containerisation using Docker and Kubernetes

Solid programming skills in Python

Fluent English and minimum B1/2 German
