Role: Senior Data Manager

Location: South Delhi, New Delhi (on-site)

Compensation: USD 1,500–2,000 / month

Type: Full-time, high-ownership role (not 9–5)

About the Company

Memorae is building a new category: an AI-powered memory layer that lives across communication tools (WhatsApp, email, calendars, files) and turns fragmented information into structured, actionable memory. This is a product-led, execution-heavy company with global ambition and strong technical DNA.

This role is designed for someone who wants to build , not maintain. Someone who thinks like a founder, not an employee.

Role Overview

We are hiring a Senior Data Manager to own and scale the entire data layer of the company. This is a hands-on, execution-first role for a senior profile with deep experience in data systems, analytics, and decision intelligence.

You will be responsible for turning raw product, user, and operational data into a reliable, scalable, decision-making engine for the company. Over time, you will build and lead the internal Data Team , owning both strategy and execution.

This is not a reporting role. This is a core infrastructure and leverage role .

Core Responsibilities1. Data Ownership (End-to-End)
  • Own the full data lifecycle: ingestion, transformation, storage, modeling, analysis, and activation.
  • Design and maintain a robust data architecture that scales with product growth.
  • Ensure data consistency, accuracy, reliability, and availability across teams.
2. Product & Business Intelligence
  • Work directly with Product, Engineering, Growth, and Leadership.
  • Define and track core product metrics (activation, retention, engagement, churn, LTV, CAC).
  • Build dashboards and data views that drive real decisions, not vanity metrics.
  • Translate ambiguous business questions into clear data models and insights.
3. Execution-Heavy Analytics
  • Perform deep-dive analyses on user behavior, funnels, cohorts, and feature adoption.
  • Identify patterns, bottlenecks, and growth levers from complex datasets.
  • Deliver insights with speed, clarity, and business relevance.
4. Data Infrastructure & Tooling
  • Own the data stack (data warehouse, ETL/ELT, analytics tools).
  • Optimize pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Set best practices for data quality, versioning, and documentation.
5. Leadership & Team Building
  • Act as the future Head of Data .
  • Hire, mentor, and lead data analysts and data engineers as the team grows.
  • Define team standards, processes, and culture.
  • Take full ownership of the Data function.

Required Experience & Skills
  • 6+ years of experience in data roles (Data Analyst, Data Engineer, Analytics Lead, Data Manager).
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • SQL (expert level)
  • Data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or similar)
  • Analytics and BI tools
  • Data modeling and metric design
  • Proven ability to work with product and engineering teams.
  • Strong business intuition: you understand why the data matters, not just how it’s queried.
  • Experience building systems from scratch or scaling early-stage data infrastructure.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and moving fast.

Leadership & Founder Mentality

This role requires:

  • Ownership mindset: you act as if the data is your company .
  • High autonomy and accountability.
  • Ability to lead without hierarchy.
  • Willingness to go beyond fixed hours when the business requires it.
  • Strong communication skills and decision-making confidence.

This is not a typical corporate role. It is a high-trust, high-impact position.

Growth, Ownership & Upside
  • Opportunity to build and lead the entire Data Team .
  • High ownership over one of the most critical functions in the company.
  • Potential access to phantom shares tied to scalability, impact, and team creation.
  • Direct exposure to founders and executive decision-making.
  • Clear path to Head of Data as the company scales.

Who This Role Is For
  • Senior data professionals who want to build, not maintain.
  • People who think in systems, leverage, and long-term impact.
  • Profiles who want responsibility, ownership, and growth over comfort.
  • Builders who want to be early and matter.

Who This Role Is Not For
  • Candidates looking for a strict 9–5 role.
  • Profiles focused only on reporting or dashboarding.
  • People uncomfortable with ambiguity or rapid iteration.

This role is based on-site in South Delhi.

We are intentionally building the core data team in New Delhi.
