Job Overview

We are looking for a Senior Data QA / EDW Tester to execute hands-on data validation and testing for Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) solutions. This role focuses on ETL validation, SQL-based testing, and Power BI report validation , working closely with Agile teams to ensure high data quality and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute hands-on data validation and testing for EDW solutions including ETL pipelines, transformations, and reporting layers
• Design and execute test cases to validate:
• Source-to-target mappings
• Data accuracy, completeness, and consistency
• Business rules and transformations
• Perform SQL-based data analysis , reconciliation, and defect investigation across multiple data sources
• Validate Power BI dashboards and reports , including:
• Data accuracy and calculations
• Filters, slicers, and visual behavior
• Row-Level Security (RLS)
• Alignment with EDW data
• Collaborate closely with Developers, Business Analysts, and Product Owners within Scrum teams
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Stand-ups, Reviews, Retrospectives)
• Log, track, and retest defects, ensuring resolution within sprint timelines
• Support regression testing , data quality checks, and validation of incremental and historical data loads

Skills to Look For (Mandatory)

Data & EDW Testing

• Strong experience in EDW / Data Warehouse testing
• Solid understanding of ETL concepts , fact & dimension tables, and SCD types
• Experience validating incremental and full loads

SQL & Data Analysis

• Strong SQL skills (joins, subqueries, CTEs, aggregations)
• Experience performing data reconciliation and root cause analysis

Power BI Testing

• Hands-on experience validating Power BI reports and dashboards
• Testing DAX calculations, measures, filters, slicers
• Experience validating Row-Level Security (RLS)

Platforms & Tools

• Experience with SQL Server, Azure Synapse, Databricks , or similar platforms
• Familiarity with Azure Data Factory / ETL tools (good to have)
• Defect tracking tools (Azure DevOps, JIRA)

Agile & Collaboration

• Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work effectively with on-shore and off-shore teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems , or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of hands-on EDW / Data QA experience
• 2+ years of hands-on Power BI experience

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure preferred)
• Knowledge of data quality frameworks and validation automation
• Exposure to data governance and data lineage concepts
